    6 Lore Information

The Ghorkov is a militaristic nation of humanity that holds totalitarianism and communism ideologies. They are arguably the most similar to the Resistance in terms of the vehicles and technology they use. However, they still possess more futuristic vehicle designs and weaponry, including the productive applications of various radiation-based energy weapons utilising the electromagnetic impulse technology. The Ghorkov host station icon is a red star. The Ghorkovs were originally allies of the Resistance, but this alliance was severed when the Resistance attempted to sell the Ghorkovs out to the Mykonian occupied zones. The Resistance authority denied this notion which angered the Ghorkovs.

The Ghorkovs had emerged from Eastern Europe after The Big Mistake. The Ghrokovian influence and boundaries stretch across the entire continents of Eurasia. The Ghorkovs are also known as 'Kyterneser', which is actually a true name of the Ghorkovian nation. In fact, the 'Ghorkov' is an exonym that is used by the other factions to refer them, whereas the 'Kyterneser' is an endonym. They are also the only group of humans who attempt to live on surface and gradually reclaim the soil that was devastated and polluted by the unfiltered solar radiation for many years following the Big Mistake. Their productive recycling of human organs for transplantations are known to support this process.

In the Ghorkov campaign of Metropolis Dawn expansion pack, the player (Conrade) becomes a pivotal figure as a new Turantul (I and later II) host station commander who has been tasked with conducting various critical operations at maintaining and restoring the Ghorkovian control and order in their vast territories from the massive large-scale invasions and infiltrations of the hostile factions.

    7 Characteristics

The Ghorkov is considered an economic faction. The Ghorkovs can exert a superb map control potential with their fast and mobile units that can be quickly deployed as well as rapidly capturing numerous sectors in a short time. The Ghorkov units generally possess higher travel speed and mobility, trading shields in favour of rapid-response and manoeuvres capabilities around the battlefield. The Ghorkovs can employ their units to promptly secure a large area of sectors from both neutral and enemy territories to increase their energy income and production capacity faster than the other factions, while simultaneously pressuring the power capacity of their enemies by keep expanding further.

In single-player, the Ghorkovs have two different classes of host stations: The minor Turantul I which appears in the early single-player levels (usually weakened further depends on levels), followed by the major mothership Turantul II. The Turantul II, also known as its nickname 'Skorpio', is generally considered the most powerful host station in the game, whose extensive firepower even allows Ghorkov players to use it as an offensive tool in battle. In multiplayer, the Ghorkovs will be always assigned with their Turantul II Skorpio-class mothership. The player's variant of Skorpio in both multiplayer and Metropolis Dawn expansion pack has 4 turrets, while the AI variant of Skorpio has only 3 turrets.
