This article covers about the official translations and localisations of Urban Assault and Metropolis Dawn.
1 Overview
Urban Assault was created by German company TerraTools. The game's original language is German with full text and voiceovers. After the successful publishing contract with Microsoft, the game was officially translated into English, French, and (surprisingly rare for its time) Japanese as well with full text and voiceover localisations.
Metropolis Dawn expansion pack was created by the same TerraTools developers (this time, also known as 'The Urban Assault Missions CD - Team'), but it was unreleased due to contract issues. Still, the developers have managed to translate the full game text into English, French, and German (original).
2 Functionality
Urban Assault game engine can also load and parse multiple different language packs simultaneously without replacing on another. Once the game detects additional language packs, there will be a new button appearing at the lower-right corner at the main menu screen that was originally called 'Language', which allows users to select which language pack to use.
