Welcome to the Taerkasten forum. This is a faction-specific forum for the Taerkasten faction in Microsoft Urban Assault. Feel free to discuss various topics about Taerkasten here.

    Faction Overview

The Taerkasten is a faction in Microsoft Urban Assault.

The Taerkasten Order is a fanatical brotherhood with occult mysticism and Neo-Luddite doctrines. Their vehicle designs are chiefly reminiscent of the World Wars equipment with reinforced technologies in the advanced armament development. They have esoteric cult formations in Southern Europe and Africa with a theocratic hierarchy system resembling a masonic fraternal organisation and a monastic military order. The Taerkasts had originated in Central and Northern Europe. They had subsequently escaped to their current territories after their dreadful encounter with the Mykonians to protect Earth.

    Vehicles & Buildings

    Taerkastens

This dangerous retrocult disdains electronic and related technology yet has advanced weapons development. They wish to exterminate us—and all other factions—from the planet. Diplomacy has failed. The Taerkastens blame us for killing the oceans and destroying the atmosphere.

    Vehicles

    Taerkasten Flying Fortress

Levitated by mystical Taerkasten properties unknown to our science, this "Fortress in the Sky" is a prolific producer of Taerkasten vehicles through its central plasma chamber. Like all Taerkasten weapons, its armor is superior to that of all other factions, with excellent energy reservoirs to back it up. The Taerkasten host station appears at the beginning of your Taerkasten confrontations.

    Eisenhans

The Eisenhans is an incredibly strongly armored tank, but its weapons are moderate. It has a retro, antiquated appearance, reminiscent of World War I technology from old Earth, but don't be deceived: The Eisenhans, also known as the Ironside, has such powerful armor that it often emerges victorious from shootouts even when up against superior firepower. The Eisenhans is one of the first units to appear in the campaign and is considered a medium tank.

    Leonid

The Leonid is a heavy tank with extremely powerful weaponry, making it a veritable juggernaut. Its armor is superior to even that of the Eisenhans. The Leonid has the firepower of a Resistance Tiger with approximately 25% better armor, composed of multilayered ceramic plating. The Leonid is encountered early in the campaign.

    Zeppelin

This huge bomber has powerful weapons and extremely heavy armor, making it very hard to destroy, slow speed regardless. Despite its analog targeting systems, Zeppelin bombs are exceedingly devastating against even the most hardened ground targets. These features have led our exhausted troops to nickname it the Behemoth. The Zeppelin is first encountered near the end of the campaign.

    Mnosjetz

This biplane bomber looks ancient, in typical Taerkasten fashion. However, the Mnosjetz is a ferocious vehicle. Its superior armor makes it extremely lethal against tanks and other ground units despite its less advanced weaponry. It is also deadly against helicopters. The Mnosjetz appears early in the campaign.

    Phantom

This missile-equipped jetfighter is the Taerkasten's most highly evolved weapon. In its own way, the Phantom is at technological parity with the multirole attack jets of the other terran factions, although in typical Taerkasten fashion it is heavily armored. The armor, combined with the Phantom's exceptional firepower, creates a tenacious dogfighter in the air. The Phantom is first deployed near the end of the campaign.

    Serp

This bullet-shaped weapon is one of the fastest moving and, thus, hardest objects our forces have ever tried to hit. The raw speed of the Serp makes up for its lightweight construction and modest firepower. The Serp appears very early on in the campaign and is usually deployed in swarmlike squads that can wreck havoc on its enemy's ability to focus on single targets.

    Bronsteijn

This flying ion cannon can inflict considerable damage. Ion cannons aren't often used by the Taerkastens, who seem to enjoy getting the maximum yield from ballistics. The Bronsteijn appears in the middle of the campaign and is most akin to an attack helicopter in its flight characteristics.

    Hetzel

This light fighter plane is deceptively dangerous. Typically Taerkasten in design, it looks antiquated and slow but carries heavy guns that can inflict postmodern damage. It is also very well shielded. Both Resistance and Ghorkovian fighters are superior in speed and firepower, but the Taerkastens typically deploy the Hetzel in numerically superior numbers, so beware of crowded operation envelopes.

    Ormu-Scout

This unarmed observation satellite is fairly easy to take out. It relays information regarding enemy vehicle types and numbers to the Taerkasten Flying Fortress. The Otschko appears early in the campaign.

    Buildings

    Power Station

Taerkasten power stations harvest energy from the earth through a means unknown to Resistance science. These pyramidal power stations are roughly equivalent to Resistance power stations in terms of output.

Build or conquer a power station and beam your host station to it for optimal energy.

    Flak Station

The flak station acts as a sentry tower, excellent for defending your power stations and host station. Flak guns are self-targeting or can be jumped into for direct control (in multiplayer). They usually exist in clusters.

    Radar Station

Radar stations peel back the fog of war by a 10- to 20-sector radius, depending on your technology upgrades.
