Information
Welcome to the Ghorkov forum. This is a faction-specific forum for the Ghorkov faction in Microsoft Urban Assault. Feel free to discuss various topics about Ghrokov here.
Faction Overview
The Ghorkov is a faction in Microsoft Urban Assault.
The Ghorkov is a militaristic police state that supports totalitarianism and communism ideologies. They possess many futuristic and state-of-the-art vehicle designs and weaponry for rapid-response actions, including the extensive application of radiation-based Electromagnetic Impulse energy weapon technologies. They are also notorious for their persistent efforts at maintaining their existence on the surface. The Ghorkovs had emerged from Eastern Europe after the Big Mistake, and they are also known as the Kyterneser. Their expansive influence and territories stretch across the entire Eurasia.

Vehicles & Buildings
Ghorkovs
This totalitarian and militaristic faction that emerged from Eurasia after The Big Mistake has weapons technology at least equal to our own. Diplomacy has failed. The Ghorkovs resent our earlier betrayal of them to the off-world Mykonians.
Vehicles
Turantul
A major Ghorkovian command post, the Turantul has been in deployment in battlefields the longest. It is armed with hard-tipped phonton rockets that can knock your air units far out of the kill box. This was the first mothership designed by the famed Ghorkovian weapons engineer Eerie Trantulov and is said to have been pivotal in the Ghorkovs' initial first strike invasions of Eastern Europe. This is a formidable weapon but not quite equal to the Host Station of The Resistance. This small mothership is seen from the very beginning of the campaign.
Turantul II (Skorpio)
This large mothership, also known as the "Skorpio," is the ultimate Ghorkovian command post and armed with higher impact weaponry and blast-absorbant shielding. Ghorkovian weapons engineer Eerie Trantulov sought to make a replacement for the Turantul I when they fell to Resistance Host Statiuons manned by your SDU predecessors. The Big Mother is never a welcome site: She has huge power reservoirs that can maintain vehicle production at a high pace. This big mothership is first seen toward the middle of the campaign.
Speedy
This "land-speeder" unit has a lethal combination of speed and advanced pulse laser weaponry, making it a tough opponent. Foxes (and Jaguars, once you can get them) are good weapons to use against them. When taking on a Speedy with just Foxes or Weasels, the Speedies must be outnumbered, or lured into heavily built-up areas such as cities to remove their maneuvering advantage. The Speedy has also earned the well-deserved nickname of Helldog. The Speedy is seen from the beginning of the campaign.
Tekh-Trak
This medium tank with plenty of armor and a lot of firepower became infamous during the early food wars following The Big Mistake. It is armed with a multiple shell battery turret capable of deploying concussion shells that yield heavy damage against your tanks. The Ghorkovs make efficient use of these tough tanks in battle, deploying them in multiple plattoons of four or five tanks each. This staple Ghorkovian tank is roughly equivalent to The Resistance Tiger. The Tekh is first seen early in the campaign.
Ghargoil
Usually deployed in large numbers, this light helicopter with rockets can be powerful against your ground units. Its small size and ample speed make it a difficult target, but it is vulnerable to your anti-aircraft fire. The Ghargoil is seen from the very beginning of the campaign.
Ghargoil 2
A medium helicopter with rockets, the Ghargoil 2 has more firepower and tougher shielding than the Ghargoil, as well as a greater energy reserve. This combines to make the Ghargoil 2 a tough opponent. It fires a double shot of air-to-ground armor-piercing missiles at each firing cycle, which can quickly render your Resistance ground units inert if you do not help them out first-hand. The Ghargoil 2 is first seen early in the campaign.
Ghargoil 3
This dual-prop bomber 'copter is fast and possesses flight characteristics almost like those of a plane. It drops a payload of medium-yield bombs, capable of 100 points of damage, that detonate on impact. Be especially aware of your vulnerability when Ghargoil 3s hover directly above your host station or ground units.
Ying (Yak-131)
This light and nimble air speeder is the Ghorkovian equivalent of The Resistance Firefly. Its flight characteristics are akin to those of a small attack jet, as it is capable of very fast air speed and changes in altitude. Its pulse lasers make it a "speedy of the sky" and, similar to its ground cousin, Yings are often deployed in great numbers.
Yang (Mrat 9)
This bomber is propeller-driven and slow, but it carries light-yield bombs with an area effect that is devastating against light ground units. Although its bombs are lower yield than those of the Ghargoil 3, its faster fire rate and slow-descent anti-gravity bombs can create a wall of fire to block ground and air units. Commanders of The Resistance must take advantage of the Yang's slow speed and pick it off before it can deliver its payload. The Yang is first seen toward the middle of the campaign.
Tien-Ying 7 (Mrat 17)
This backswept airfighter jet with guided air-to-air missiles is extremely fast. Its high speed makes it a difficult target to hit, even for guided missile units, which are very accurate. It also has a large energy reservoir. Its missiles are also capable of extremely high air speeds and have been known to catch enemy Falcons at maximum thrust. The good news is that the Tien-Ying 7 is one of the most expensive units for the Ghorkovs to manufacture, making it rare. The Tien-Ying 7 is first encountered toward the end of the campaign.
Gigant
This saucer-shaped hover plane resembles the Turantul I host station in appearance, due to its shared origins, but it is actually a highly maneuverable air superiority fighter capable of firing diamond-shaped laser pulses of up to 310 points of damage. The Gigant is first seen in the middle of the campaign.
Ghor-Scout
This surveillance satellite is hard to see due to its small size, although its presence is given away by the unusual, high-pitched whine it emits. The best weapons to use against it are anti-aircraft guns and homing missiles. The Wasp, Fox, Weasel, Hornet, and Falcon have all had success against it. The Ghor-Scout is seen from early in the campaign.
Buildings
Power Station
Similar to Resistance power stations, these plasma-converting stations can significantly increases your energy absorption rate. Build or conquer a power station and beam your host station to it for optimal energy.
Flak Station
Flak stations act as sentry towers, excellent for defending your power stations and host station.
Radar Station
Radar stations peel back the fog of war by a 10- to 20-sector radius, depending on your technology upgrades.
